...providing multiple entry points, based on students’ prior knowledge.  Students can be lead in at various points according to their place on the “continuum of understanding…” (van de Walle & Lovin, 2006) and then take the journey of learning to complex and rich levels where spontaneous concepts from within the student’s mind can interact with more scientific and technological concepts based around speed, acceleration, gravity and the like.
